Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit movingdifferently.tv or buy from us, what we do with it, who we share it with and what your rights are.
Who we are
This store is run by Thunder X Limited (company number 10882949), registered at 50 Liverpool Street, London EC2M 7PY, United Kingdom, trading as Moving Differently (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of your personal information for the purposes of UK and EU data protection law. If you have any question about your information, email store@movingdifferently.tv.
What we collect
- Order and contact details: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number (if you give one) and what you ordered.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our payment providers. We see limited details, such as the payment method, the last four digits of a card and whether the payment went through. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or through the store, for example about an order, a problem or a return.
- Device and usage information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you look at, what you add to your cart and roughly where you are (country or city level). This is collected automatically through cookies and similar technology when you use the store.
- Account details: if you create a customer account, your login details and order history.
We don’t ask for, and don’t want, any sensitive information such as health details.
How we use it, and our legal basis
UK and EU data protection law requires us to have a legal basis for each use of your information. Ours are:
- To take, make and deliver your order, take payment, send order and delivery emails, and deal with problems, cancellations and refunds. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- To answer your messages and give customer support. Legal basis: contract where it’s about an order, otherwise our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
- To keep the store working and secure, prevent fraud and fix technical problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe store.
- To understand how the store is used (for example which pages are visited and where checkouts drop off) so we can improve it. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it for cookies, otherwise our legitimate interests.
- To keep records for tax and accounting, and to meet other legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- Marketing emails, only if you have signed up to receive them. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email. We will still send emails about your orders.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share it with
We only share what each provider needs to do its job, and they may only use it for that purpose.
- Shopify hosts our store, checkout and order records, and sends our order emails. Shopify processes your information on our behalf. Shopify also uses some information to run its own services, such as fraud protection and the Shop app, and for that it acts as a separate controller. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.
- Printify and its print partners. Every item is printed to order by Printify and the independent production partners it chooses. To make and post your order they receive your name, delivery address, the items you ordered and, where needed for delivery, your email address or phone number. Depending on where you live and what you order, your item may be printed in the UK, the EU, the United States, Canada or Australia.
- Delivery companies (such as Royal Mail, DHL, USPS or local carriers) get the details they need to deliver your parcel and send tracking updates.
- Payment providers, such as Shopify Payments (which works with Stripe) and any other payment option shown at checkout, like PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. They handle your payment details securely and may use them to prevent fraud, under their own privacy policies.
- Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountants, HMRC or the police, where we have to by law or to protect our rights.
- A buyer of our business, if the store or company is ever sold or restructured.
Cookies and analytics
The store uses cookies and similar technology provided by Shopify. Some are essential: they keep your cart, let you check out and protect the store. Others help us see how the store is used, through Shopify’s built-in analytics. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie or privacy settings link on the store. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the store, such as the cart, may then stop working. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Shopify will treat it as an opt-out where that applies.
We do not use advertising, tracking or retargeting pixels or cookies (for example from Meta, Google or TikTok), and we do not share your browsing activity with advertisers. The only cookies on the store are Shopify’s essential cookies and its basic built-in analytics.
International transfers
Our providers work in several countries, so your information may be handled outside the UK and the European Economic Area, mainly in Canada and the United States, and in the country where your order is printed. When that happens, we rely on countries recognised as giving adequate protection (such as Canada), or on safeguards approved by the law. These include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: six years after the end of the financial year the order was placed in, because UK tax and company law requires it.
- Customer messages: up to two years after our last contact with you, unless they relate to an ongoing problem or claim.
- Customer accounts: until you ask us to close the account. Your order records are then kept as above.
- Marketing sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Cookies and analytics: for the lifetime of each cookie, which is up to two years for Shopify’s analytics cookies.
Printify, its print partners and our other providers keep the information they receive under their own retention rules and legal obligations.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it for legal reasons;
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- object to us using it on the basis of our legitimate interests, and to marketing at any time;
- get information you gave us in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email store@movingdifferently.tv. We may need to check your identity first. We’ll reply within one month, and it’s free unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive. You may also have other rights under the law where you live, and we’ll respect those too.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. If you live in the EU, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Keeping your information safe
Our store and checkout run on Shopify’s secure, encrypted platform, and we limit who can see order information. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send card details or other sensitive information by email.
Children
The store isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us their information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
The store may link to other websites and social media, such as YouTube or Instagram. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we aren’t responsible for how they use your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how the store works or the law changes. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
